Default My Dad'* Pontiac... my first drive

Here I am, sitting on the fender of my Dad'* Pontiac.

About a year after this shot was taken my Dad built a car for me, gas motor, brakes, clutch (MN1... or one speed), etc...

My car was in the garage, Dad'* car was parked across the front of the garage, keys were always in the car.... sound like triouble?

Yup, I knocked all the doors off our neighbors garage with this car at the ripe ol' age of 7.

The trip was to from Illinois to Wyoming (Yellowstone) in the summer of 1941. My guess is that it was South Dakota, but I really dunno.

The Pontiac is a 1938 Silver Streak... Apologize for posting in the Bonneville room, lost my head there for a moment.

The badlands are pretty surreal. You feel like you're on another planet when you're surrounded by them.
