Default Muffler idea, lemme know what you think.

I've been thinking about what i should do with my car, and i was looking thru some vids i had on my computer. Check this out, it'* a guy who bought a C5, he'* like in his mid 20'* and he wanted some cheap mods. He gutted his mufflers and here'* what they sound like. Think this would work well on my GM sport exhaust, or should i keep that beaut the way it is?

Right click, save as, yadda yadda, it purrs!

I mainly want a little more volume in it, but not much change in pitch.

that sounds pretty mean! but I have no idea if it would work on our mufflers. Take one for the team and try it! but be ready to buy a new one if the experiment fails.

All he did was open up the muffler with a cutter, rip out the baffling, some or all, and replace the side of the muffler. So it'* theoretically a free mod if i can find somone with a cutter/welder and have them do it for me. Andy i know you welded your exhaust, could your dad maybe do this?

I know anyone can do it I just don't think it'* going to sound close to that on your car. But really I have no idea how it will sound so I won't be pessimistic. Good luck!

Mine is already actually close to that, i don't have the base stock muffler. I have a special one GM felt like making a couple years. It sounds a lot like that actually, i need to take the laptop outside sometime and record some exhaust notes.

yeah that'd be cool if we could hear yours and compare it to the C5. Maybe that'* what that special GM muffler is...just a stock one gutted a little. I actually have my stock muffler still(man those things are huge!). so maybe if this works and sounds good I'll think about altering mine, should the magnaflow give up.

Probably, but I don't forsee it as being worthwhile. It'd probably be quicker to buy a muffler for < $100
