dis-2 is the same as a dis-4, but dis2 is only for 4cyls. dis-4 will do 6 or 8cyl

I believe the DIS-4 only does 6cyl. I don't believe there is anything for 8cyl.. but I could be wrong. It has been a while since I have looked at ignition components.

Bon - You don't need a tach adapter, and the coil pack adapters are only to make the install easier.

Gameover - I'd say most "hardcore" racers would use the 7 series, as thats what they're designed for. Reference: http://www.msdignition.com/ignition_15.htm

GAMEOVER: the DIS boxes are for Distributor-less engines. The 7 Series, and Digital 8, are for the hardcore racers, because the majority of them, have distributor-equiped engines. Even Nitro Burning Dragsters have Magnetoes [sp?].
