MPG coming back from VA this weekend..wow
So I was driving back from VA to NC this weekend and decided to see what this car could do MPG wise.. This picture is the best AVERAGE mpg I got after filling up and travelling over 135miles. Total trip MPG was 28.1mpg (225miles, mpg verified at the pump).
I was impressed for a car this big, this old, and with over 150k miles on her.

Not bad for an LN3! I averaged about 24 combined highway/city with my 89 Bonne.
But with my 93, I got about 32 at about 70-75 in 3 hours of rush hour all the way through chicagoland, and then 29 back with some city thrown in..so thats not bad for an LN3 at all.
I haven't seen one of those computers since my '89 Ciera International! The screen in mine was burned out, but you could still see it at night. Thats such awesome technology to find in a domestic for 1989.

When I used to do a lot of Highway runs with the 91 Bonnie I would normally get 31 with some happy foot syndrome.... I was shocked at the MPG'* that car can get and still does get
And GM wondered why People kept those old cars sooooooooo Long
Still a lot of them on the road too

Oldsmobile was the KING of putting advanced Driver Info Centers in their cars, that one looks remarkably similar to the DIC in my Aurora.

Those onboard computers are really cool. I have a 99 Mercury Grand Marquis, and it shows average MPG, but also shows instantly, the current MPG you are getting. It'* cool to be going 60 mph and letting off on the gas going down a hill and then the current mpg goes up to 99 mpg! Last trip I took with the Bonne I got 31 mpg at 70 mph.
