I've talked to a few guys at the shop, they've found some very interesting things in car engines...

Do we want to know or is it better left unsaid?

Maybe I should check under the hood before I start my car in the morning. There are a few stray cats in the neighborhood.

Not that I've heard. They'd probably tell you to file an insurance claim under your Comprehensive policy.

I was working on a donated Honda Civic at the local mega-church some years ago and found something sticking out of the hole in the firewall under the hood where a hood hinge or something passed through an opening. Turned out to be the southern end of a northbound mouse, who'd apparently gotten stuck halfway through the hole and, I don't know, starved to death or something. Ewww... :?

One day my dad left the farm to go take care of something at my aunt'* house and he was only away for 10 minutes. I was outside waxing my first car at the time (1970 Dodge Coronet) as he pulled up, got out, and said, "Kyle do you hear that? Sounds like a cat meowing...I heard it all the way to *aunt'** and back."

Sure enough we pop the hood of the '98 Silverado and one of our kittens was shivering by the fan shroud. How it stayed there so long, I don't know...poor thing got a lot of attenion after that.
