3 counts of acceleration and sophistication......choose wisely

GXP'* are cool too though, and looks much sportier than any of those IMO.

If youre wanting something really new, theres the GP GXP and the Monte Carlo SS both with the 5.3 V8.

The Marauder is a great looking car but I wouldn't take one over a GXP.

Nothing to write home about, if you want a muscle car though, the GXP cant' touch the rwd V8. Plenty of mods available for the modular v8 too. Nothing spectacular however...

Call me old-school, but IMO, just looking at the picture, that Marauder is about as close to the ideal form/shape/design for a car as I've seen in decades. (At least the exterior, anyway)

Marauders and GXP Bonnies are both pretty, but if you want a V8, I'd have to x2 Hoov and say get an Aurora or one of the new LS4s (Impala/Monte Carlo SS and Grand Prix GXP).

That'* funny because that car hasn't changed shape in decades.

If I were to get a N* car, it'd be a GXP or a Seville.

Somehow the Marauder does manage to look pretty cool, despite the fact that it’* basically a Marquis with bigger wheels and updated trim and spoilers. IMO, the GXP is way sexier in the styling dept, inside and out.

I rode in my neighbor’* Marauder when he got it new, and was a nice car. However when he punched it off the line, I was ready to feel 300hp, but it just barely chirped the tires and was pretty slow off the line. Also, it didn’t sound nearly as good as my GXP. But 4.10s and Magnaflows would cure those 2 problems. I thought the interior was kind of bland.

There was a guy on here that traded his Maruader for a GXP. He’d be the one to talk to.

The Mercury Marauder is nothing more than the Mercury version of the Police Interceptor package on a Crown Vic. It also has the nice amenities like leather bucket seats, fancy rims, etc. But, the performance is the same.

As for the changes between the Police Interceptor package and a standard CV or GM: a "performance intake" and modified PCM. That'* it. No other differences.

If you want the performance, don't buy a Marauder. Buy a CV or GM and do the two upgrades. As a matter or fact, I have a GM you can buy! $5200 with 51,000 miles.

Thanks for the input everyone. I've also considered the STS..the Aurora was verrrry sexy in its heyday and I wanted one badly, but i think it looks a bit dated now.

This is a tough decision, but I'll be making it within the next few weeks. So far its looking like GXP, STS, Marauder - in order.

Vital - lol...its a little more than the police package though. The police package does not have the 302hp DOHC 32V V8, it has the standard 16v SOHC V8 which makes about 10hp more than the Civiian vic due to the above mentioned performance intake and PCM. Its in the neighborhood of 230hp.

So now I'm basically flopping between STS and GXP...but part of me still wants that big RWD V8 Merc, haha.
