I wouldn't worry about the mileage. The entire suspension can be rebuilt for acouple hundred dollars.

Fellow Chevelle owner here too. My Chevelle was my first car and I love it to death! Can't wait until I can get it all redone.

and the motor has less than 3000 miles sice its rebuild.......and its got a brand new clutch and throwout bearing...mechanically this car is great....And I have already looked up the full ft end rebuild kit at like 250 bucks!
