3,500 lbs vs. VW GTI
Before I even found out about Bonnevilleclub.com I was at a red light next to a VW GTI (VR6 I think). All it had that I could see were these big *** wheels on maybe 2" of rubber and a BIG *** performance exhuast tip (probably from Pepboys by the looks of it...yeah.........I know!) It probably had other things. But to say the least, I KILLED him. I pissed him off so much when I eventually turned off the street (with him behind me) he layed on his horn. I actually think he didn't know how to drive it, or he just didn't know what the hell he did when or if he modified it. As we took off, his car was loud and annoying as hell! You could tell he was flooring it, but he was slow! When I slowed up a little finally his car started to speed up fast, but I sped up every time he got closer. The closest he got was right behind me at the next red light! That'* when he layed on his horn.
This may not be a great story but I thought he'd be a challenge since my car is so damn heavy and I didn't mod it yet. I had a good laugh though at the time.
A modified (crappy) Ford Tempo TRIED to race me the next weekend. He'* lucky I was stock!! I'm not bragging about these, believe me. Just funny.

Amy'* ghetto gold and green, too.
Hey, those GTI'* ARE funny. Best way to get 'em are on mountain roads. They think they have handling and power until the see what a Bonneville can do. I smoked one bad up here. Just walked away from him. He didn't have the car or the balls to hang with me.
A guy at work won't stop talking about his. Seriously annoying to people around there. He dropped an Eaton M42 on it....they make kits for the GTI'*. I challenged him to a race for a smaller diameter pulley awarded to the winner. He backed down and said he'd rather run a road course. I replied so quickly that I'd do it, he backed down again. He started asking around about what I had, and a couple guys that have ridden in my car laughed at him. He doesn't brag about his paperweight at work any more.

That'* right! Sorry Amy_lynn, I didn't intentionally leave you out! We'll have to rename the club "the Green/Ghetto Gold Club" (drop the "Boys" part). BTW, I have named my Bonneville the "Ghetto Girl". If Tamara can name her'* "Gone Hollywood", I figure I can name mine "Ghetto Girl".

Yeah Tamara,
I usually have names for my cars (I know, its wierd). For example, my T-bird was "Grumpy" (I ran that thing with only a downpipe for a good year and a half--no tickets either), and there is my "Stinkin' Lincoln" (I love that car--name has no reflection on ride, reliability, appearence, or quality--just a name), and there was the "Topless Wonder" (my Cabriolet)...But until recently, I was at a loss for a name for my Bonneville. Then Will started the "Ghetto Gold Rim" talk, and it just had to be...My Ghetto Girl.
I didn't know you were going by the Ghetto Queen. I haven't been in the chat room yet.
