Default Oil pressure guage suddenly reads 120 lbs?!?!

I looked down yesterday and noticed that the oil pressure guage is pegged at 120 lbs. Seems to be running normal. Has anyone else seen this? Bad sending unit? Bad guage? Bad car?

Sounds like a bad unit. Is there any oil leaking?

The car is good!

Oil sender unit needs inspection for loose/broken connection first. Also, I think that sometimes the internal seals of the sender may be bad but you should see it leaking oil.

Had that same problem with my car. Dealer replaced the sensor. Works fine now. Was never any problem with the car or pressure, just looked that way on the gauge, guess just another Bonneville "quirk". I should make a list of all the nutty little things that go on Bonnies over time.......but I might get writer'* cramp! But I still love my car!

Oil senders go bad. They are reading 60 lbs of hot fluid pressure all the time..
