Default Maiden Voyage

Today seems to be the day, guys!

Everything is going well, as long as my coolant doesn't decide to mix with my oil again, we will be all good to take her out this afternoon.

Here'* what I need to know, what should I bring along on this. I want to clean out my trunk before we go, because I do kinda want to throw her around and see what she can do. And make my mom jealous that her car can't do that.

Also some last minute checks I should do before going. I know check the ATF, Oil, and Coolant, and check for leaks.. but I don't want to miss anything that will end out costing me $40 for a damn tow home.

I'm going to keep her in town, so if necessary I can push her home. Worst case scenerio, of course.

You need one of each screwdriver...your favorites. Pliers, a hammer...and I'd suggest a bottle of each fluid.

Be gentle for the first few miles...remember..you just resurrected it.

Well, yesterday wasn't the day, unfortunately. I guess not all the water got out of the oil, and I freaked out, and drained the oil because I thought the coolant was mixing with the oil again. But, it wasn't really [at least, I hope not]. Right now I am out of oil, so I need to wait until I can pick some up. And my mom wants her boyfriend to follow us, so in case the car breaks down he can help us? I'm not sure about this one, we have cell phones, so that seems retarded. But whatever, it'll give me an opportunity to see if my car can take his ['04 Altima 2.5L]. Even though I highly doubt it will. Wednesday MAY be the magical day, since he doesn't work Wednesdays.. so we'll see guys.

I'll be sure to keep everyone updated, because I know there are a handful of members that are real curious about the results .

I wouldn't push the car much at all after doing all that work to it. I would take it easy with it to make sure everything is all good. Run it up to temp while driving, make sure it feels good and sounds good, then come back and check all fluids to make sure they look like they are supposed to ( to make sure oil and antifreeze isn't mixing). Actually you should probably drive it easy for probably a few hundred miles to make sure it breaks back in properly.
