Default MAF cleaning

OK, I just cleaned my MAF, using the proper stuff (smells like electrical contact cleaner, which is cheaper), and MAN, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! Maybe everyone knows this already, but definitely worth another mention, especially with all the oil-soaked---aka K&N--filters everone is using. Obviously, the oil is pulled from the filter--especially if you over-oil, as I tend to do--and gunks up the MAF wires. Cleaned the wife'* 99 Crown Vic too, and it hauls butt again as well. I wonder why the PCM doesn't pick up on the MAF'* oil-contaminated state? Maybe not a sudden change type thing, but a slow degeneration that the PCM doesn't recognize as a problem? Anyway, good information picked up from a post here has REALLY helped the performance of my 94 SE, and I am thankful. Hopefully, it will improve MPG as well. I will check, as I always track my mileage. Will let you all know.
