Lumber Hauler Bonne.
So I had to go to the lumber yard for a 3 foot piece of 6"x 6" wood to replace a rotten sundeck post.
No problem fitting that into the SSEi. It was dry and sunny, so I left the Jeep at home.
All they would sell me was an eight foot long piece. :(
No problem, I thought. It will fit thru the trunk pass through.
It wouldn't fit.
So I had to cruise home with it sticking out the open trunk.
There is not even one hole on the trunk lid to tie it down, not even thru the latch.
First time for everything.

The opening is 7 1/4" wide x 8 1/4" high.
The wood was 6" x 6". The interference was actually on the height. I could only get it in about 8", so one foot was hanging out the back end.
The problem is you can't draw a straight line from the top of the trunk lip to the backseat arm rest. I suppose if the armrest wasn't there it would have made it.
The only thing I have ever used the pass thru for is throwing jackets and purses into the trunk.
Your 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" lumber would have fit side by side no problem.
Go ahead, I challenge you to fit a rough cut 6 x 6 all the way thru.

I put a 6" table in the back of my trunk, and it only stuck out 6" or so. Think if I had a boat from the 60'* or 70s era? I could fit an 8ft table, with room to spare

You could fit a king sized mattress in there. It would be a really sweet mobile home. All you would need is some electrical inputs for a microwave and fridge.
Now thats a dream bonnie!
