1992 Series 1 L67 had a different crank I do belive, the part numbers are indeed different, few other differences that you metioned above, my guess is its built like a 93 stock L67, the old crank and ect probably have a lower availabilty to a engine rebuilder, as stock is probably getting thin on the 1992 style internals.

Also they have a life time warrenty which acording to the warrenty card wont be voided buy the mods i put onto the motor (unless run without oil, or excesivly overheated)

Not quite how I meant it peter... lol
But when were were searching to see what we could do for Sandrocks car, we found that my 91'* actually had the exact same crank as his 93... That crank is still in the L67 Block sitting here.. From 91-95 The series I the LN3, L27 and L67 all shared this crank.. From what we could find the diffrence between the LN3 Block and the L27/L67 Blocks were a couple of bosses that were not drilled into the LN3 block that the L27/L67 had..
1990 used a diffrent crank as it did not have a One piece rear main..
We found it interesting that the diffrence was in the pistons and rods, Supposedly hardened pistons from the second ring land groove on up, and the use of a floating wristpin and bushing as opposed to the pressed wristpin of the NA...
Peter you let us know how its going..

I agree with Paul..
Fun it can be. Take your time and remove/clean the old parts you need to swap over. It can be a good time since you aren't under the gun for the car to be running asap.
