That'* quite a DIY. I think you have to pull the side pan for that . . . which means dropping the transmission at least low enough to clear the frame.
This sounds like an input clutch piston issue that seems to have cropped up in the early 2000'*. Takes a full overhaul to fix it from what I know of it.

You only have a few minutes to make an Edit or changes.
Just add another post is Ok.
As far as the 4T65E here is a post with some helpful information.

Thanks all for the banter on the this topic, its not an urgent thing, but this year would be good.
I'll let it all sink in and then figure out a direction...
Doesnt matter really, but dont have that edit button.
For grins here'* photo of a 3 year custom job on a Valkrie, Wrenching on bikes is really my forte....

I love the Valkrie!
The idea that they put that much motor in a bike is crazy to me!

Its a head turner and a sweet ride... so smooth as a cruiser... I added lots of chrome...
Looks good for a 25 year old bike...
People ask me.. "Is that new?"

You have the ability to follow the instructions to do this job yourself. You'll have to remove the valve body to do some work on it. Likely you'll need to drill it in one or more spots but all can be done with a simple drill motor if you take it easy.

These days I'd be scared to ride a bike on many of today'* roadways just because of the maniacs and screen-addicted doofuses on the road. Maybe someday I'll have time for a bike out on rural roads. In the mean time, my little old CT90 is great big fun on the trails.
