I knew that, just wondering which. I would lean towards the 4 year newer Impala if the GTO had the 5.7. But even giving the years difference, I dd like the GTO coupe, the LS1 would be tempting. The LS2 would seal the deal.

The GTO was produced by GM'* Holden subsidiary in the suburb of Elizabeth, South Australia. It was equipped with the Corvette'* LS1 ('04) and LS2 ('05-'06) V8 engine with a choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic. The same model was sold in the United Kingdom as the Vauxhall Monaro and in the Middle East as a Chevrolet Lumina SS. GM North America made a deal with Holden to produce a maximum of 18,000 vehicles per year starting in late 2003 and going through to the end of the 2006 model year. The 18,000 units was the production limit for the model at the Australian assembly plant.

I would go for the GTO because in the long run. it will probably hold its value better. GTO has more power than the Impala. If you like sticks then you'll like the GTO.

well u could get a Impala SS with a 5.3 V8... but u mentioned u were single, so a GTO would fix that more than a plain Ol' Impala. My buddy (blackbetty) has a Black 2010 Impala with tinted windows, comp stereo system and chrome 20" rims and it still looks plain to me from the front.
If ur gonna drive year round i would go with the Impala since its FWD and has less power

I just returned the 08 Impala back yesterday, i had a rental while having the GXP in the shop, i was really impressed, HUGE stepup from the old Impalas
As for the GTO... its so fricking SEXY! please dont get the 5.7 i feel like its was such a waste.
since you dont use the back seats much (i do sometimes but for different purposes :P jk)
Coupe>Sedan
RWD>FWD
V8>V6
6 Speed>Auto
GTO Style>Impala Style
Modding GTO>Modding Impala
GTO Bucket seats and interior turns on>Impala Only good if you wanna make the rear end lean lol
therefore
6.0 GTO>Impala
again JMO
