nice catch, very observant. I pulled the vavle covers because I had a leak and I couldn't find it anywhere. So while I was there I just put in new gaskets too. Hopefully all that work fixed that dang leak. Although I have a suspision that it is also leaking from the power steering pump.

when i do a lower intake on a 3800. i drain the coolant first. go through the top end inspect the upper intake for melting, cracks or warping , clean surface , view for any parts of old gasket and or silicone that got buy the rags , then what i do is i take at least 2 quarts of oil and give it an oil bath to pass any unwanted coolant out of the rest of the block. put it all back together , a little trans gel on the injector 0 rings. drain the oil to a slow drip. fill oil and coolant.start it up, and bleed the air out of the system. always making sure the fans come on is a must.....
