Default Lifter Tick & Q

Well then boys and girls, i solved my lifter tick. I posted about it a while ago as a sied note part of a main post.

Anyone who has a lifter tick or some sort of tick...listen up.

Well since I got the car, no matter how new the oil, there has always been a quiet to ANNOYING as heck lifter tick. Always has bothered me just a bit. Well today I decided maybe my engine does not like cheap oil...so I went to walmart and bought a 5 QT bottle of Q advanced synthetic oil...NO MORE TICKING!!!

And...don't kick me, but i used a Fram High Mileage oil filter... yeah, yeah, i know...

AC delco filter is $2.94 at the parts store. Next oil change, please ...trade up in quality.

(For Dan) Which filter did you use? The bonne one or the 4.3L one?

No offense, AC/Delco'* are a very small trade up in quality..

Wix or, Purolator, Napa and such are excellent/reasonable priced filters. Some of the AC/Delco'* are the worst out there (different manufacturers make different part numbers). Take a look at a PF1218 for instance for the trucks. Oh well, this has been bumped around alot. Pat

IF........................ you get a maid in mexico one...( it will have
the AC logo painted on insted of a sticker and somtimes it won't have "Duragard"
on the box,,thos are the ones you DO NOT BUY there nothing but restrictive pieces
of sh*t with bad media and craftmanship(glue all over inside on the media, pleats
not spaced right etc.)

BUT....................if you can find the the filters that have the
sticker on them and other sighns to look for,(center tube has better higher flowing holes
in it)etc.,,thos are GOOD filters, maid by champion labs. very good nice media good flowing filter.

thats the only reason i left my beloved AC,, there getting to hard to find,i don't feel like
running all over town to find "my" filter. so i switch to NAPA Gold(WIX) and M1.
also a very fine constructed well maid filter that will do as good as a higher
priced filter like purolator, K&N, M1. these filters also are very very good just not
worth the extra $$ in my book,,not when you got a NG or WIX or others you can
find.

just any thing but FRAM

I had a feeling it was a bad idea to say anything about the filter....

Guys, I know everything there is to know aboiut filters and such, what is good and what isint, its just that I was at walmart then, and really did not give a crap at the time about what filter I was putting in....but just to make everyone happy, I will use a Napa/WIX or an AC filter...there.

Now as far as I see, no one has said anything about the tick, thats the only reason I posted this, not because i wanted to be lectured about what stupid filter I used.

I have heard a few people with LN3s comment how their engine ticks sometimes, and just wanted to see if this was a solution for them as well.
