the best way to find out is to go down to the station and ask. Its a regional thing, so you need to find out whats legal in your region. the courthouse might be another good place to look.

here in town the police generally doesn't care too much (unless your a know trouble maker) otherwise, you'd be fine around here.
*Although state troopers are a different story*

Only because State Troopers are more or less army rejects, at least in MN they are. My theory that'* worked in the past is just do it and see what happens, trial and error. It'* not like something that would OBVIOUSLY be illegal, like running a stop sign or Speeding, or something common sense like drinking and driving. The worst that'* happened to me was warnings. The only tickets I've had for any of that stuff is just because I've been a repeat offender on the Neon lights.....The damn cops always know where I am, I don't know how but they do.

It wierds the cops out when you ask them if something is illegal though. I put blue underdash lights in and stopped down at that local cop shop and the officer that came out to check them seemed to be completely out of it. His answer was, "you can't see them so I guess it'* okay, but I wouldn't run them just to be on the safe side." Can you say "covering his tail?"

Most U.*. states have their laws (including traffic) posted on a government website. It may be the same for Canadian provinces... do a search in google and I'm sure something will pop up. I'll warn you in advance tho, it'* usually not what I would call "light reading"...!

Most of the time the cops don't care so long as the car isn't on a road or street. Parking lots and driveways are fair game though. There was an older post to a .gov site that had laws and regulations for MN, I'm sure on the same site you could find laws and street regulations for other states as well.
