Default L26/L32 Valve Covers

i have been doing some research, and i have found out that GM has supposely made different valve covers for the Series 3 motors. The New Valve covers are black in color, and are designed to reduce the Valve cover leaks that the Series 2 has as we all know

anyone hear about this as well??

When I sold my GTP Coupe, the guy blew the motor, had it replaced with a 2006 GM Longblock with black valve covers. I had never seen those before, but he showed me that it was a new GM motor, I had always wondered about them myself. A 2006 L67 would be an L32 wouldn't it??

BTW - They looked identical except for the color.

no. there can be a new 2006 S2 L67, and there also could be a new 2006 S3 L32. Same block, but many more differences. blower, drive by wire, etc

but if it had black valve covers, it would probably be an L32, but that would mean some serious changes, like upgrading to drive by wire, etc.
