Rolling start at about 25, within a few secs was at 65, then I shut 'er down, I was 4 or 5 car lengths on her anyway. We did this 3 or 4 times, each with the same result. When she passed by after I slowed down the guys were thump-up all the way. Good sports!! Hehehe...Fun.

Just like this one, only maroon:

It would have been a 2000 cause the impalas didn't come back till 2000, same year they changed the monte carlo, I remember that cause I was working at Whiteside Chevrolet at the time.
I know the '98 Impalas looked like the Caprice with an LS1, and the one in the link is a '99. I thought '98 was the first year they brought them back?? :?
I'm pretty sure the caprice style ended in 97 or 98 and the new impalas where back in 2000. Can anyone confirm or deny this with facts? I know there was a period of 1 or 2 years that they did not make the impala.
Hmmm....good question!! :P

Last Impala SS (Caprice style, and excluding the new SS'* just now coming out) was the 1996, and impala did not return until 2000. http://www.goissca.org/imp_hist.htm

yeah, the big impalla ss was from 94-96 with a LT1, 260hp, cant remember the tq though. not the fastest stock, low-mid 15'*. was the one you raced a LS? i think those are the only ones with the 3.8, it would have had rims instead of hubcaps, and subtle gfx. if you walked away it may have been the 3.4, there not much slower than the 3.8.

i thought the 3.8 ran high 7'* 0-60 and around a 15.8, whats a 93 ssei run? i thought it was about the same.
