Default Killed an Impala...

Okay, so it'* not a great kill, but it was a 99? 00? 4-door Impala. She came up next to me with a couple guys in the car and honked (because she can't see me through the tints), then dropped the hammer. I did likewise and more than walked away. Rolling start at about 25, within a few secs was at 65, then I shut 'er down, I was 4 or 5 car lengths on her anyway. We did this 3 or 4 times, each with the same result. When she passed by after I slowed down the guys were thump-up all the way. Good sports!! Hehehe...Fun.

Just like this one, only maroon:

I was just wondering that, so here'* what I found:

Layout front-wheel drive
Engine 3.8-liter 12v V6
Horsepower 200 hp @ 5200 rpm
Torque 225 lb.-ft. @ 4000 rpm
EPA fuel economy, city/hwy 20/29 mpg
Additional engines 180-hp 3.4-liter ohv V6
Transmission 4-speed automatic

So they have either a 180hp 3.4L, or a 200hp, 225tq. 3.8, which mine is 205hp with 260tq. So, yeah, I did right by 'er...

It would have been a 2000 cause the impalas didn't come back till 2000, same year they changed the monte carlo, I remember that cause I was working at Whiteside Chevrolet at the time.

I know the '98 Impalas looked like the Caprice with an LS1, and the one in the link is a '99. I thought '98 was the first year they brought them back?? :?

I'm pretty sure the caprice style ended in 97 or 98 and the new impalas where back in 2000. Can anyone confirm or deny this with facts? I know there was a period of 1 or 2 years that they did not make the impala.
