Default A Kill...Literally....

Disclaimer:
I heard this story a while ago, and y'all prolly heard it, too. If someone can find the actual story to either dispute or confirm these facts, that would be greatly appreciated.

A man worked at an airplane manufacturing company, I believe it was Boeing. The 747'* (or similar large plane) have booster rockets on the wings to assist with take-off. This man got a bright idea one day, and smuggles one of the rockets out of the factory. He then proceeded to fit this rocket to his car along with a switch to activate the device. He found a stretch of road that was flat and straight for several miles. At the end of this straight-a-way was a curve, with a mountainous cliff edging the road.

He begins his run-of-a-lifetime with pedal-to-the-metal acceleration. He'* approaching 90 when he reaches this straight-a-way. Doing approximately 95 at this point, he hits his button.

According to the story I was told, they found the car about 10 ft. off the ground smashed against the cliff at the end of the straight-a-way. Upon further examination, they found his fingernails embedded into the steering wheel!!! Wow. What a rush...What a way to go.... :?

Has anyone else heard this story?? I'll see if I can find it.

Yep...Just asked the guy who told me about it where he heard it from. He said, "It was one of those 'Did you hear about the guy who...' stories." Prolly a bunch o' BS. I'm damn near sorry I even posted this. Sounds feasible, though...

Yup, urban myth. See if Mythbusters has an e-mail address. I'm sure they'd love this one for the show...
