Default KILL ALL DEER! (many pics)

Enjoy!

9:50pm 1/4 mile from home on Genoa Rd just leaving town coming from work. Fog was bad, could only see 10 feet (not joking). I was going 43mph in a 45, slammed the brakes...was maybe going 35-40 when I hit the deer. It was standing still in the middle of the road starring at me. It flew up and away fromt he car to the left and landed in the ditch. I pulled over and looked for it but it was to damn dark to see a thing except for my taillights.

I call up insurance tomarrow and stop by the local shop to see if they can put in a temp headlight. So how do I feel?
First, off pissed more than any of you can imagine.
Second, lucky air bags didn't go off.
Third, happy to be ok.
Forth, ready to buy a 12 gauge and shoot every damn deer I see.
Fifth, KILL ALL DEER!

I don't need this, I just installed my brand new ZZP Mini-AFC 2.0 before I left for work all happy. Then this happens on the way home. I'm a cautious driver, I never go over 65mph unless I'm at the drag strip or freeway, and this stupid crap happens to me too often.

I friggin' hate deer.

Glad you're ok! And I hope the insurance fixes your paint right....that'* a sweet stripe job you have. The good news is new headlights! I could use a new driver'* headlight and front and rear bumper covers. Waiting for the right opportunity to get 'sandwiched' between 2 deer!

I really feel for ya Kyle. Keep us posted.

The stripes were done independantly by my friend'* dad. Only way those will get redone is if he feels sorry for me. I don't care about the stripes right now...that won't get done for another year probably. I'm done modding this car though, its not worth it when this crap keeps happening. All upkeep now.

Dude, after seeing your car last weekend, i thought it was one of the best. True american style no doubt, and it'* a shame to see this happen. But as i was saying online, brighter headlamps will only hurt in fog, better fogs are the key in foggy weather. Their angle/height makes them work, and thats' why headlamps don't.

Good luck on repairs!! I hope you're still able to make it in march, and not need to tag along in my car or something. But if she'* not up by then you're more then welcome.

I know how you feel. i have totalled 2 of my favorite cars by hitting deer. i have also had at least 6 very close calls, and my friend hit a deer while i was rideing in his car. i almost hit three at once on 169 on a very foggy night last year, i was lucky to be in the right lane not the left. i am scared shitless at night on any country road now, i like my new car. i am all for handing out guns to anybody who can shoot, and killing every single deer out there.
