Default Key FOB quit working & Quick Fix

Do others also have their Key fobs suddenly quit working?
My situation is that the battery hold in clip is lifting out of circuit board at one solder point. This will be the 2nd time it needs soldering again.

Added a few layers of self adhesive thin foam inside the rear of cap to get more pressure on the battery.
There is enough room in there to add the foam.

I don't know how long this will work for, but so far so good.
Does anyone know if any new aftermarket solutions exist for the GM replacement key fobs?
Knowing my luck I would get a used one and have the same problem again.
You have to be very careful about holding that clip down, when replacing the battery!

It also helps to clean the contacts on the buttons and the circuit board with a pencil eraser. That way your not pushing hard on the buttons.

Great post! Also, I always "spin" the battery at least a quarter turn when I put one in, to clear any skin oils/dust/etc. off the contact points. The outer isn't a big deal, but the center point is.
