I bought my car from a smaller dealership and they do they own financing. No interesrt if your late at all. By me not working a full 2 months made me 2 months behind in payments. Just as soon as I started working like a 2 weeks ago, I get enough money saved to make a car payment. I owe $700 on the car. I have $350 now. Now I think I have to pay it in full now.

What I had to do was pay all the monthly payments up to date, the repo fee, and another chunck of change to the abck for "proccessing" or something. Then I could get it back. I had to call my bank and have them call USBank to figure out what happend to the transfered money. They found it and credited it to future payments. I still had to pay all that up front to get it back. After all this I went into USBank every month and paid in person (no more online payments for the car).

2 little side notes:

1) Even when I went to pay off the balance of the car a few months later I still had problems with them. I paid 3G+ to them to pay it of and 1.5 months later I get a bill for about $100 I still owe on the car. I went in and talked to someone and they said it was some "back fees" that weren't quoted to me when I paid it off. I tried to argue the point but it got so I just wanted it gone. Paid it and now it is "officially" mine.

2) The guy the repoed my car was a buddy of one of my friends. Told my buddy what happened, he talked to his buddy, who then said "yea, that was me. that was a fun car to drive" .

Damn! I wonder if they drove or towed mine. If they drove it, they were in for a BIG surprise! I have to give them $700 dollars in 21 days then they will start adding storage fees. This doesn't sound right at all. I was speaking to the dealer when he told me that. I will make sure he'* right tomorrow. I hope he is. paying a repo fee is not in my budget.

I hate to tell you this but chances are the repo fee will fall in your lap. The bank is a financial institution and will do what it can to take a $0 hit on any repo.

Sorry to hear that, same thing happened to me back in 97. I had a Geo Prizm and lost my job. But I had spoke to someone at the finance dept about arrangments. But the next day I woke up to get ready and looked out side an my car was gone. It'* was parked in the back of my building by the train track where I could see and hear if anything was going on with my car. But they still got it. I called the finance dept to find out what had happen. They told me that the order to repoe the car was in before the arrangment was made. So I had to pay the late pymts the current pymt due and next mth pymt plus recovery fees. Even though I had made pymt arrangments. And the worst thing was when I got the car back alot of stuff that was in my car was gone. I will never let that happen again. I do hope everything turns out ok for you. Holla Back........

I payed cash for the car but didn't pay in full. I had gave him $2200 in cash. The car was actually $3500. I had to pay $250 a month until August. No bank is involved in this situation. I just pay the dealer in person. I just didn't in 2 months. Now they took the car just as I was about to get my motor mounts fixed. I bought the part at AutoZone last week. Oh well, its just gonna have to wait.
