With his 60mph coming in like 11 seconds, he didn't have a chance at all...

... but those TDI'* have some low end to them - 155lb-ft of torque from 1950 to 5500 rpm. How'* THAT for a flat torque curve?

come on, at least pick on the 1.8T! a vr6 would have chewed you up, need a L36 to hang with those

my dad was looking at getting a TDI, they get 50mpg, and probably the best looking car that can get that good of mileage, got the cavy instead

L27 cant'? It'* only got 5 lb/ft less then a l36, and it'* torque is MUCH lower in the RPM range.

Those TDI VW engines sound horrid too, i was working in drive thru once, and I was scared by the noise.

VW diesels are quieter than the bang, sput, bang diesels of old... and no black smoke either

I don't think they sound that bad, the turbos spooling up is a pretty neat thing :P

Toronto to Montreal and back on one tank (almost 700mi?)? Good stuff.

Damn Jim, with your gas prices, Thank God you're efficient

I've never heard what the TDi'* sound like, in fact I don't think I've seen one here yet. But I agree they are the best looking car that can get that kind of mileage. Now those Hybrids, those are some fugly looking things!
