Default It'* really starting to get to me

.... I miss my L67 SSEi. Don't get me wrong, the L36 is one peppy NA engine, but once given a dose of a 270 HP/300+ lb ft L67, a 215 hp/240 lb ft L36 really feels like it'* lacking.
I definitely want to keep my SSE, but seeing that I can pick up a 1999 SSEi with under 100k for under $5800 just seems too tempting -that'* less $$$ and a little over half the miles than what I had on my SSEi when I sold it for $6k. Heck I can even get a 1996 SSEi with 120k for around $4500.
So, what I'm thinking is by June 1st expect there to be another L67 Bonneville in my driveway.
Hopefully I can pull off that goal of a low 15-second L36 SSE before then because once I get a L67 the modding stops on the SSE. Right now if I could pull off a low 2.2 60' I'd be pulling 15.5'*. Pulled a 15.948 with a 2.47 60' so dropping .2 from the 60' would be .4 in the 1/4.
Intense PCM, Rockers, ported mani'*, and I should easily be in the 15.1-15.3'*.
Anyhow, just a little remorseful after knowing that I'll never get those easy-to-attain-with-a-L67 #'* with my L36.
Only way a SSEi won't join the stable is if ZZP actually makes the M90 kit a reality for under $1k. Question being -when the listed mods needed to fit the M90 to a L36 they didn't make any mention of pulley'* driving the M90.
Anyhow, that'* my rant for the day.

I guess i'm a guy who likes to hold onto his car. You could save your money for something else

If they don't release a kit, just do it yourself. The only custom things are the PCM and the 4.0" pulley. That car with the M90 add on ran quicker then a stock GTP if i remember correctly too.

Reading what you just said made me think not to get an SSE. I thought about the gas prices for the supercharger for one that made me think not to get an SSEi but to have the good looks and the power make me just hold off and save my money more to get the SSEi. As soomn as I get $1000 for a down payment, I am at the lots!

I kinda do and kinda don't know what you mean.

I started with an L27 and went to an L67, which was a whole different light. I can't imagine ever going back, but for you do have an L67 then go do an L36 must feel like evil and darkness are out to consume your black soul for its sinful making. Ok maybe not that dramatic, but ya know...

Well, the customized L67 LIM, custom fuel rail, and whatever they did for pulley to work the SC belt -that much I know is custom, and the PCM supposedly doesn't have to be reprogrammed. Oh, and the Mini AFC 2.0.
I'm also watching the insurance auction (Copart) -seen a couple wrecked SSEi'* on ebay lately, but I refuse to buy a car without seeing it in person first.

There is a 2002 SSEi for $3800 about 15 miles from me, but that car looks like it was sent down into a 2000' ravine at full speed, hitting every boulder on it'* way down. The floor is pushed up about 6", the front end is toasted, the rear end is compacted, the drivers side looks like a MACK semi tried going under it, and the passenger side has a good rear door. The interior is about the only thing salvageable. The motor and trans are shot -tranny case broken to bits, motor has the lower core support sitting right about where the oil pump should be, and the SC has the TB BROKEN off.
I really want to know what happened to this one -had to be a either a semi or a train ...or the ravine.
I personally don't see the car being worth anything more scrap metal, and the guy selling it seems a bit loco -he has a 1996-1999 SE parts car with a good rear end and since Gordy (SSEi95) is looking to update to the newer taillights I asked how much for the trunklid and the tail lights and said $500 for the spoilerless trunk lid and lights - about $250 more than the salvage yard two blocks away was asking for the same stuff WITH a spoiler.

It'* up to you what you want to do really.

Both are great engines. I drove around with an L36 for 3 years, and loved it.

But if you want that performance, it will cost you a ton more on the L36 to match what an L67 can do. It'* all up to you.

i would suggest saving your money until you are more sure what to do. If you end up getting the L67 you will have less debt.

I've never had an L67 but I've driven one, and going back to my L27 Bonne at the time was a big step down of course. But a few months later DrugRunner beat an L36 powered car so I didn't feel AS bad. You have a nice SSE there, I sure wouldn't mind having it. Don't worry, you'll get another SSEi some day.

I know what you mean. I for one could not stop myself from buying the LSS. Once I test drove it I had no choice, money or no money. I'm making monthly payments. Now when I drive my 93' I think, is there something wrong heere? I've driven a Mustang V6 and a Silverado since i've got the LSS and it feels like there not working right or something. Complete snoozes. Now when I drive I require power on demand and slingshot acceleration from stoplights. Anything less feels wird.
