Josh...the old what you can't see can hurt you applies here. The problems develop with in the engine and coolant passages. Because the stuff is so sticky it adheres to things inside. By the time you see indications in the expansion tank, things have gotten really bad. Once the Dex is exposed to air (low coolant levels) it turns quite acidic.
I've been a proponent of the G05 green "all makes/all models" for years, and have used it in all the vehicles I own and service and have been happy with it. As I generally buy used cars, they come with the Dex. It'* the first thing to go!
GM in its quest to make for a "maintenance free" car for what was the usual new car buyer (100k mile plugs, 5 year anti-freeze, etc) went down the wrong path. Ford and Chrysler went with what had been going on in the European markets - the G05 type.

Good points. I told them to change it shortly after I got my car. They took it in to a shop to do it, and they told them to not worry about it doesn't need to be done... Blah blah blah. So they just said "Ok." and went home. Plus, when they found out how much it cost, they really didn't want to do it. lol
That'* why I've been watching their coolant as often as I can. I was just saying theirs still looks perfectly fine, but I get your point too, and I'm sure it'* just a matter of time...

Its like the Delco Battery with the Hydrometer in one cell... Yeah it might be green( Indicating its charged), but you have a 5 to 1 chance that another cell is dead
