Had my FPR replaced under recall a year or so ago. Looks like I'm set. I got a letter from GM telling me that i need to go to a dealer to get a new FPR installed.

Anyone got a letter?

Is this recall still active? AllData used to list that as a recall (checking on a '99 GP L36), but it is no longer listed there.

Cody, check the thread I linked on the first page. It was full of people who got letters.

Dick, I only know that it showed on autosite. Remember that they don't list it for every L36. It looks like there may have been two different suppliers and only the Delphi one was a problem.

I just checked on all the '99 GP models on autosite and that recall doesn't show for the GP, in any trim level.

Why don't you check AllData for the '98 Bonneville SE and see if it lists the recall for that, just as a comparison.

Never a problem, Cody. I'm here to protect and serve....no wait...that'* police. Ok, I'm here to save you from yourself....um...that doesn't sound right either. Wait! I've got it! I'm here to annoy and irritate...how am I doing?

And Dick, I looked up the FPR for the GP on GMPD and found out it used the same FPR as the SC Bonnevilles, which was not affected by the recall.

That explains that.

Thanks, Mike...as always - your follow-up is great. That would explain why they pulled it as recall from AllData. I'd look at a '98 but then I'd have to subscribe to that vehicle...I'm too cheap for that. I checked a '98 Buick Regal GS, which I do have a subscription for, but that being supercharged, doesn't have it listed, either. Each of those cars have FPR that simply says "Made in Germany".

I bet this was the cause of the fire that killed a 98 (IIRC) Bonne L36 in the Worcester yard. Bill and Pat will remember it. The engine bay was toast, not much left. And half the interior and headliner had been in flames by the looks of it.

Mine'* been replaced twice. Once, by me due to the recall and non-associated issues with starting/stalling. Then when my UIM went, they replaced my new one due to the recall...
