Default I'm getting angry at my Bonnie

I'm becoming really frustrated with my Bonneville right now and more so as of recently. On Tuesday, the car starts shaking like crazy when taking turns and stopping so I take it into the shop. Wednesday, find out that the crank shaft pulley broke and the car was out of alignment a little. Said I'll get it back on Friday and the cost will be $627 (OUCH). Today, I get a phone call from my dad that says they found something wrong with the nose of the supercharger. One of the pulleys had gone bad and it'll cost me $200 to get that fixed.

Well, I just recently blew out my knee (2nd time) and now can't work and have rehab for a month. I'm a high school senior and work a part time job that usually brings me $150/wk (pretty good, right?). So yeah, bum leg, no job, no car (getting back tomorrow though), and a hefty bill to pay with no money. This stinks. Sorry, just had to vent.

Supercharger? Don't let them touch it. Pulleys don't go bad. The coupler might, but you can do that yourself for half that price.

The whole situation sounds like a rip off to me. I'd go get the car and take it elsewhere myself. Sounds really convenient how they are finding stuff wrong that had nothing to do with why you brought it in

I probably didn't use the right word or anything. I'll type up the sheet when I get it tomorrow. This shop is one of the best places I've ever been. They fixed the crank shaft pulley but it was still making noise so they realized it was something with the supercharger. The guy is a lifetime friend of my dads and knows his stuff inside out. He gave me a price break. I'm happy with everything they're doing, it'* just the money part that hurts.

P.*.- My dad also used to be a mechanic many years ago and he'* looked it over and said that they're doing everything right. I'll try to get more specific tomorrow.

If you're cool, we're cool. Sounded fishy the way you initially described it, but we ain't there.

We might be just a bit protective of our members/friends here...
