I wish I could disable the automatic headlights
I looked into the FSM. The Lamp control module knows you car in park because there is a completed circuit, not a broken one.
you never know when you need to sneak down that back road for some private time with a girlfriend/boyfriend

I installed a small toggle switch inline to the sensor which I mounted under the blank panel in the console (wanted it out of the way, since it wasn't going to be used alot). This will disable the automatic light feature and also disables the twilight sentinel feature, meaning you will be able to operate your headlights manually. I also noticed that when you flip the switch it is not an instant on/off, you may have to turn the key off then back on to cycle the sensor back on. In my case I leave the sensor off, I like to operate my lights manually.

I wonder if making the lighting system think its in park vs disabling the sensor would eliminate the restart stuff.
