I got it serviced when i got a new tranny hose put on. I'd recomend NOT to try and mess with it yourself and let a professional mess with it .......

Make sure it DOESNT get flushed, just drained, filter change, and refill.

I heard something about not getting a flush. Mainly because of something to do with a person ot changing the fluid fo ra long time. Is this true> If not, what is the real reason not to get a flush?

If you dont do regular changes of the fluid, it gets thicker and tends to fill in leaky areas and seals with a little sludge. If you flush the tranny and get rid of all that, then add fresh new thinner trans fluid you can develop leaks and start burning bands and cluth material causing the tranny to fail or develop harsh shifts.

Changing fluid is ok, because that sludge material will stay in place and the fresh fluid will mix with the thicker thats still in the trans.

Correct me if Im wrong, but what is so difficult about dropping a pan, cleaning the pan, cleaning the gasket (we have re-useable gaskets) popping a new filter in and slapping the pan back on?

I personally think anyone who is capable of doing an oil change can change their transmission fluiid. But hey, I might be wrong eh?
