You can solve the problem of an idiot behind the counter by making yourself smart before you go there. Just a tip maybe you can continue shopping at the closer store.
sounds like he did his research, just didn't think they guy behind the counter was an idiot that needed to be double checked.
I dont think so. If he had done the research he could have known he was looking for spark plug XX-4564 then asked the PARTS MONKEY to get him THOSE plugs. Being the wrong plugs in the right box is something else totally
True. But sounds like he just needed to vent his frustration, I'm sure rhis is a lesson learned. Always double check before you leave the store.

Default pepboys

got their Futura LTE tires and the sidewalls are showing cracking. Advertised as comparable to Goodyears.
Went back to Pepboys and the tire Mgr said I needed to purchase roadhazard coverage in order for them to replace them.
Doesn't make sense. Roadhazard? They are installing a roadhazard on my car.
You know what they can do with their tires..............

I cant stand autoparts stores. They always act like your stupid for asking any question. The autozone by me is basically run by drug addicts and they dont care about you or anything you buy. They often let lines build up and shout across the store for someone to get behind the counter.

It dosent surprise me they this happened. Its something about too much testosterone in these places that just requires people to be ********.

I've had my share of iritating expeirences in autoparts stores too. When I find one that I enjoy going to I tend to stick with them even if theyy're a little more expensive.
There'* nothing worse than having someone look at you like you don't even know what the part you just asked for does.

I hate going to those stores. I'll buy simple things like lights, and I will be 2nd in line and wait for 10 minutes at times. They are terrible when it comes to checkout.

Considering what they pay their employees at those stores, I'm suprised those guys get anything right. I worked at a Pep Boys many many moons ago.

I don't believe so, they should've came with Platinums.

When I didnt work at Autozone I used to do all kinds of research on parts and part numbers BEFORE I ever stepped foot into the local autoparts store.
For something like a spark plug maybe thats a good idea. But for like brake pads or rotors or something like that, it seems kinda stupid to have to.

They always think they know more than you about your car too. I had to buy an upper radiator hose for my STE before and I went into the store and told them what I needed and the guy says "we have one in stock, let me go get it." So he brings it out and I look at it and immediately tell him its not the right one. He said that it said right there that it was the part number, so I calmly explained that that was the part listed for the N/A 3.1 and I specifically told him it was the turbo one. He told me that it didn't matter. So then I had to calmly explain to him that it did matter because the turbo cars got a different radiator so there was more room for the Intercooler. Then the guy still didn't believe me, so I went out to the car and physically showed him that it wouldn't fit, and when I opened the hood up he said "oh wow...it is a turbo." Its like he didn't believe me or something...if I tell you I have this car with this engine, thats what I have give me that part, if I tell you the wrong car or engine, thats my own damn fault. Then he started asking me questions about it, because he didn't believe that it was stock even though it was listed in his damn computer. Then he proceeded to tell me that they don't carry the part for the turbo car, only 25 minutes later. So I definately let them know how I felt when I left half of my tread in their parking lot on the way out.

They treat me like I work there.

On the topic. ToastedOats and I went in to get some rotors for his car. The part in the computer system was actually listed incorrectly. They gave us the right part per the system...system was wrong.

I have come to know my local parts guys and they take the extra effort to ensure things are right. Sometimes there'* nothing that could have prevented the problem. Other times there are.....Toasty and I remembered...why we alway bring the parts...
