Default I found a seat!

Well, I am in Fargo, ND right now and I found a seat to replace my driver side front...it is not the 9-way, but the other electric seat. I am going to need help to figure out how to adapt this seat or swap parts between mine and this one to make it all work. But I will discuss that later when I get home with it.

I am just so happy now...Enjoying the the good old USA.

So this is what I picked up in fargo...it is the best thing I've come across in a year of searching. It is a little dirty, but won't look bad with a good cleaning.

So here is my question. I have the 9-way power seats in my car. This is the one with the controls on the side of the seat.

Should I:

Just swap the bottom part of this seat on to my current one...or

Swap in the entire seat and just wire my controls up to this seat for the fuctions it does have.

I am assuming both are probably possible...

what part of your seat is bad, seat cushion, backrest, both?

If if is just the cushion, I would see if just the cover would swap out, but I don't think the backrest is the same between the two seats.

I personally would not want to rewire the seats and lose the AL7s, but if there is no other option, I might look into that.

I really just need the bottom portion...A few of my AL7 functions don't even work anymore (mostly the back ones) so an entire seat swap may be a good idea.

Have you checked out the compressor? Mine was siezed up, but was very easy to clean, and now works great it is under the passenger seat.

Pics in the morning...

I did the swap, I just ended up throwing the whole seat in there. All you have to do is take the black box control module and wiring harness for the AL7 motor, and install it on the AL6 seat. The AL6 is then plug and play with the car. All functions work from my stock control location (center console) without issue, except the back functions of course. Maybe one day if I find an AL7 in fine condition the same color I will buy it, but this will do for now...

Only issue I had was stupid. My belt buckle is different, and I didn't even notice. Thus my belt wouldn't fit in the buckle...so I need to swap that. I am guessing it is a Canadian/American difference. I had the metal buckle with the GM logo button...this seat had the plastic buckle with the red button. They ain't compatible as I found out.
