So, I finally got around to changing the end links on my sway bar. I only did the front, but I found out why they were popping. One of them was completely snapped in half!


I didn't get a chance to take an after pic, but let'* just say they look a lot better know. What a difference in the handling!

They're very prone to snapping like that. The endlinks on my truck have been busted since the second day I owned it...LOL

I'll get to it......:P

Interesting - the front passenger side end-link on my old Firemist Gold 1998 SSE was also broken just like that when I got my car.
Same thing with my current 1995 SLE.

From what I read in the archives, that problem is very common.

What kind did you replace them with?

You did the work yourself?

Just regular Napa brand. I was kinda in a pinch for money and I really wanted to get them switched out. Yes, I did the work, but I did have my boyfriend helping me.

Glad to see you got them fixed Danelle. For the control and safety endlinks provide it has always made me scratch my head as to why almost all manufacturers make them to break, Bet ya had to jack the car up pretty high to slip under the front.

Nice one Venom...yes I did. You would be surprised how big of a problem that really is. It took me way longer than I thought it would. Since the first one I did was in pieces, it didn't drive itself out like it is suppose to. It just kept turning in the bushing. So, that is when I had to get my boyfriend to come out and get a hold of it so it wouldn't turn. then it was just a matter of getting the bushing back in and sliding the link back through. Damn that is a tight fit! So, in all it took me a little over an hour. I took the wheels off too cause things just kept getting in my way. teehee
