I did the math..
And i was getting around 13 MPG in my 93 SE... So i'm doing a new o2, plugs wires, and an oil change. Car has a fram oil filter on i believe... The guy who sold it to me gave me two fram oil filters cause he bought a couple but decided to sell it....
I'm having the shop my mom works at (deals with money, not mechanics) change the oil, and put their plugs in tomorrow. They use delco parts, and delco plugs are the exact same as NGKs like a lot of people use here. They are generous to our family $$ wise.... I ordered an o2 ($36)from GMPD.com and a red set Taylor Spiro Pro 8mm wires ($50) from PFYC.com. Shop said their delco wires are $60 so i guess performance doesn't come at a price...
Can i realistically expect a huge improvement in milage, like almost 10mpg? My car just rolled over 107k miles, and i dont know how old the plugs wires o2 are. My engine seems really whiney for an N/A model as well, and i've heard the bad fram filters can cause this cause they have either no flow or flow withough being filtered when they fall apart inside.... Ok any comments etc are appreciated.

Sence your so good at math, Lol I could do this..but I dont really care. its my god giving right as an albertain to burn a much fossil fuels as possable.
But I have to fill up my 18 gallon (us?/can?) tank every *about* 500km. (well I could do more, but I dont like frying fuel pumps) so that 500km is 3/4 tank..
and my D.I.C. is saying im getting 25mpg...

There was a study of oil filters and most Fram models faired poorly. For my Bonnies, I only buy the AC Delco filters now. Mobil One Synthetic and AC Delco filters

If I had some of the filters on the 'avoid' list, I would be out there tonight changing them

2 Orange Oil Filters ???
Fill em with gas, stuff a rag in em and light em up !! Then run. Those Fram filters are only good as bombs anyway
Hehehe
NOOO, dont actually do that ok - that may be hazardous to your health.
Cheers,
Andrew

Frams are well known for falling apart inside, so your oil isn't filtered, and they can also fall apart and get no flow. This added ontop of bad flow as it is causes many problems, my idle is MUCH stabler, and it doesnt have the distinct whine it used to. I should be able to get 20 i believe, its 55 most of the way to to work which is right where OD kicks in, and a nice low spot in 2nd even accelerating..
I agree. Last thing I want is bits of Fram filter floating around in my engine. I'd rather even not have a filter.
Just remember, you get what you pay for. Would you trust your expensive engine to a .99c crap filter that doesnt work well and can fall apart, leaving bits of paper and cardboard floating in your sump, blocking your oil tubes.
Hey, I have a better idea. Send all your Fram filters to your favorite rice racers - help cleanse the world
