You are correct, the bell housing and tail housing can be changed. The transmission it'* self looks to be a 5L40e. Glad we were able to help out.

can someone help out in posting a new thread? I ant figure it out. I'll reply in this one just in case you can help.

I'm trying to document my TH400. There is a tag that is attached above the pan on the passenger side.



The plate that is attached has 118 near the top, center of the tag.


Lower left hand corner, 88LJ, lower right hand corner, 35769.


My car is a 1971 Chevelle, the transmission and motor are not original.


Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
