It now has about 178,000kms ( 110,000 miles)

This was taken the day it went to the garage to start the work to get is back on the road.

2 months later it is on the road and drives great. I spend the whole week out of town driving my 2003 Malibu and when I get back on the weekends, most of the driving is done with the Bonneville. But Renée does get to drive the bonnie during the week and keep an eye on it.
I will try and get an updated pic soon, I had the little pice of ground effect( missing in the pic behind the rear door) painted and waiting to go on and also putting a STB on it, but being -40 with wind altely it is too cold to do anything.

It doesn't have the auto climate control on it. It doesn't have many options at all. Its pretty bottom of the line. It runs like new with 119k on it, and I would expect it to. It seems a little sluggish like it should have more power, but it starts every time the key is turned, gets good gas mileage, and runs good, idles smooth, and the tranny seems to be in good shape, you can't feel it shift and it doesn't slip or anything. We bought it ~2 years ago to replace the '92 Olds 88 we had at the time. That one was almost identical to this one, only it didn't have a trunk release in the car. Other than that, and the slight drivetrain differences between the two years, they were basically the same car. And when we sold that car, it had 193,000 miles on it and change, and it ran as good, if not better than when it was brand new, and the tranny was in very good shape also. It shifted smooth and didn't slip. The car is still running to this day. The kid we sold it to goes to my school and he drives it everyday. I don't know him very well, and I don't ever talk to him, but I see the car everyday, and it makes it to school everyday, so it obviously still runs well enough to do that, but I don't know what kind of mileage it has on it, or what kind of work they have had to do with it. We never had to do any major work to the car when we had it. (my dad bought it in late '92) The most major thing we ever had to do to it was have the fuel pump replaced, but that was under warranty (and I don't remember it, because I was only like 6) and it was only at like 20,000 miles, so I think it was defective. Other than that, it just needed a new ignition coil every 40,000 miles (in 92 there was only 1 ignition coil for all 6 cylinders and they were known for going bad often), and needed regular maintenance. The reason we sold the car is because everything but the engine was falling apart on it (the suspension was shot, the exhaust was getting to be in rough shape, and the interior was starting to rip in spots, and things like that that wear). But I would say the drivetrain would've lasted to at least 350,000 miles, probably 500,000+ miles.

The 93-97 SLE is a SSE without the body cladding

the white ones (like mine) are more protected because of the Curse
95BonnevilleSESC has an SLE and there are some SE'* with dual exhaust on one side just as well as the SLE'*.
