I sell performance transmissions and my Delco is hanging in and until it blows to pieces I will stick with it. Then I will set up with my performance transaxle. No point fixing what is not broken. if you treat it nice and drive nicely it will last for a long time.

Mine might be dead within 3 years, and definitely within 5. I'm glad that I've got some good tranny parts and rebuild connections!

The longer I let that Max-life fluid circulate through the trannys veins the better it shifts, its just amazing. Also I put a bottle of Trans-x in there, supposed to be good stuff all the local trans shops always go into autozone and buy it.

Recently the tranny in my '95 has been doing some weird things that have just started last week.

If I start it; reverse out of the driveway (everything is normal so far). Then I get on the road slide it into 2, and every once and a while it takes about 4 seconds to get into gear. This doesn't happen all the time, but it concerns me. What'* up with this?

It has like 220,000km on it.

The transmission shop is just trying to rip you off. My 88 LeSabre has 153,000 on it and the transmission is still good in it too. Don't let them try to sell you a transmission when it works great still.
He'* right. You have a tranny that'* functioning well with no problems, and they want you to come in and rebuild or replace it????

Reality is that any tranny can go out at any time, even a new one. Keep taking good care of it and chances are it'll last longer than you want to keep the car.
