Default How do you know when SC is bad?

I've been noticing for a while now that my Bonnie just doesn't seem the same anymore. And then I let my brother drive my car and he also noticed that "it just isn't fast". Only 3 months ago, I gave it a complete tune up, new fuel filter, Taylor 8mm wires, K&N filter, MSD coils, and I had a cracked exhaust manifold repaired. And still...no balls! When I step on the gas, the boost guage goes all the way up, and the car hasn't even kicked down to a lower gear to accelerate. It does eventually, but it doesn't have NEAR as much pick up as it should. Any ideas??? I want my bonnie runnin right for spring!
Thanks!!!
Oh yeah, just outta curiosity, is it normal for the temp guage to hang around 220 all the time even when driving?? Mine does.

Are you using "performance shift"? How about the spark plugs and air filter?

Any chance the converter is on its way out?

Catalytic converter may very well be clogged. You may also consider getting your trans flushed to firm up and quicken your shifts. We're going to need more info, but for now, jack up your car (when the exhaust is cool), and bang on that catalytic converter. Describe what you hear to us.

A 180° thermostat will help, but as a general rule, lack of balls accompanied by high operating temperatures point to a clogged Cat.

Thanks guys!! I'l get that checked out asap! Oh, and yes I always use the Performance shift. When my car was tuned up I has new AC Delco plugs put in, and the K&N filter is new.
Hmm, guess since there'* this possibility of the clogged cat, I have a GOOD excuse to get my exhaust done!
