Unhappy how do I disable the anti theft module so car will start

my car died, got new battery, now won't start and mechanic says he needs $700 to get this thing working.... how do I just disable this thing myself? is there a way?

Look around for stuff on VATS. The long and short is drop the panel below the column and using 1 of 16 standard values (which you can do from Radio Shack) bypass it.

Might bost you a couple hours and $10 in resistors. it'* posted up a bunch of times though, so if you have no luck with a search...we'll send a gearhead off to find it for you.
