I purchased a junkyard stereo for my Bonneville. It'* out of a 2003 SLE. It'* the exact same stereo, but I've been told that the 2001 does not have codes that you can retreave and re-enter once you install a stereo out of another vehicle. I've been told that when I install this stereo, the car will not recognize it and it will not play.
Surely there'* some information out there on how to make this stereo work in my car. All of the websites I've found go through the procedure of downloading your codes and calling a phone number to get codes that you can use when you install the new stereo. I've found nothing on the newer models.

I think you will need to go to a GM dealer and have it reset.

im pretty sure that that is exactly what you have to do.

If I remember right, it takes a tech2 to clear that. If it was easy to do, then there would be little reason to have the feature on the unit.
