Default Honda Del Sol vs Dodge Avenger

Ok, so this isnt a story but really a prediction (I'm bout to enter a little wager). This really lame kid with a beat-up 4 banger (i think its a 4) Avenger challenged my my friend with his 90'* somethin del sol to a little drag.

I'm wondering bout the out-come of this event. I'm thinkin Honda hands down, but I'm interested in your opinion.

I believe the del sol has 125 hp and vtec and the avenger has a 140 hp.

I'm with the Del Sol. They are very very light cars.

I predict a 90% probability that the Del Sol will win this race.

Dodge Avenger:
Base Engine 2.0-liter DOHC I-4
Horsepower 140 @ 6800 rpm
Torque 140 lb.-ft. @ 4800 rpm

Optional Engine 2.5-liter SOHC V-6
Horsepower 163 @ 6800 rpm
Torque 161 lb.-ft. @ 4800 rpm

The Del Sol is has 3 engine options; Two VTEC model with 127 hp and the other with 160 hp, and the third engine being a non-VTEC, 1.6 liter with 106 hp. ABS is optional. Other options include a 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic transmission.

So it really depends on who has what in their cars.

That 2.5L is nothing. My friend has that in his Sebring, and it barely moves.

That 2.5 matches hp with the other v-tech, the latter being in a much lighter body. So, if both have the more powerful engine available, the Civic would prolly take it, as much as it pains me to say so...

But if the Avenger had the 2.5, and the Del Sol had the 1.6 106hp, the Avenger might do it...They're both weak, though.

well I can tell a 4-banger when I hear one, so I know for a fact the dodge has the 2.0 litre. and the way the guy in the del sol drives, i'm pretty sure he owns the 126 hp vtec version.

I know the honda will win, but I'm just kinda interested in your opinions.
