Default Homelink lights

Hey All,

New owner of a 09 silverado hybrid.

Trying to program homelink.

I read instructions and did research on here first, but I think I have bigger problems.

I can clear the codes and the light flash, but when I try to get the homelink to learn the garage remote, I get no blinking at all, just solid lights.

anyhelp is appreciated.

Thanks,
Casey

Is this what you did?

The GDO is programmed by using the customer'* hand-held transmitter(*).
Turn the ignition OFF while programming the GDO transmitter. Follow these steps to program up to 3 channels:
 1.
If you have previously programmed a transmitter, proceed to Step 2. Otherwise, hold down the 2 outside buttons on the GDO transmitter for approximately 20 seconds, until the light on the GDO transmitter begins to flash rapidly. Then release the buttons. This procedure erases any previous settings and initializes the memory for all 3 channels.
Decide which of the 3 channels you want to program to the transmitter you have.
Hold the end of the hand-held transmitter against the front surface of the GDO (less than 1 inch) so you can still see the light.
Using both hands, press the hand-held transmitter button and the desired button on the GDO transmitter. Continue to hold both buttons through Step 5. Important: The GDO is compatible with most, but not all, types and brands of transmitters. If the GDO light does not flash rapidly after 90 seconds, there may be a compatibility conflict with the transmitter used to program the GDO. Call HomeLink™ at 1-800-355-3515 in order to address this problem.
 2. Hold down the buttons on both transmitters until you see the light on the GDO transmitter flash slowly and then rapidly. The rapid flashing, which could take up to 90 seconds, indicates that the GDO transmitter has been programmed. Release the buttons on both transmitters when the light starts to flash rapidly.

the only thing, I can think of, is when I reset the buttons, I only get a slow flash, do i need to wait for the rapid flash to get them to full re-set?

Yes, you may need to hold the buttons in for up to 90 seconds.

Tried to program again today, still can't get rapid flashing lights, or slow blinking light when pressing 1 of the buttons down. I only get solid lights, there should be no stored codes since the truck is new. Anyone else have any ideas

I've programmed up quite a few Homelinks, the first step is clear all codes. No questions, you have to hold the two outter buttons for a long time until you get fast blinking. Then it'll take new codes.

I've held the two outter buttons and they never blink, they are solid and then after awhile all the lights shut off, I am not sure what is going on, I can't get them to blink. Any other help is appreciated.

The 2009 Silverado trucks use the Car2U system. I am going to refer you to the website below which features written and video instructions on programming the Car2U Universal Home Remote System.

www.learcar2u.com/program/

Here is the contact number for Car2U: (866) 572-2728. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 8:00 pm Eastern Time.
