Homelink
like mentioned earlier you need to program your garage opener itself.
After you do the steps to get your homelink programed get a step stool or ladder if you need it and go to your opener (the thing that runs your garage door up and down) and there will be a program/reset/etc.. button on it. Press that button THEN you can climb off your step stool, sit in your car, and press your homelink button in that you just programed. It should pick up the signal and work just fine.
Have had to do this 3 times on my car for 3 different openers.
Should work perfect after that!

i followed pretty much the same steps as you.. i cant remember if you missed something....
if you get stuck let me know.. ill scan the car manual to show you how
i remember there was a step were you had like 20 seconds to do it, if not you FAIL lol

i followed that and it worked on my bonneville, escalade, toyota sienna and the avalance before i sold it
