Default Hi new here

I have been searching for a Bonneville related site for a couple of months and I knew if I looked long enough I would find one. I am on my second Bonneville now a silver 2002 SE, aka the Silver Bullet. The first one we owned was a green 1996 SE and that was a great car, but we had to trade it in when kids number 3 came...back seat just not big enough for 3 car seats. My wife actually cried when we traded it in for the dreaded minivan. Now 2 years later we still have the minivan but I have upgraded my car to a Bonnie. I drive 70 miles a day and the Bonnie is a great cruiser plus it has good power for its size. But like most things in life it could use more power, so I will be interested in adding some performance upgarde in the future. They will have to be somewhat stealthy upgrades though...don't want the wife to find out....she says it fast enough already.

Then LIE !!!
Get a Cold Air Intake...
and then tell your wife.. " Ahem.. ...the head gasket is blown.. so I have to replace the head gasket and Rocker Arm... hee hee ).

"There was a hole on the exhaust pipe and muffler.. so I had to go cat-back mendral bent pipe with Magnaflow/Flowmaster/Vibrant mufflers with Borla tips.. and removed the U-bend and Resonator."

"Darn... the car was overheating...so I had to replace the 180 t-stat "

and so on and so forth... you get the picture ??

we dont havea u bend

any way a good first mod would be to get a cai open style K&N cone. they are cheap last a million miles and give you a significant increase in power @ least a 2 tenth drop in 1/4 mile time i dropped 3 tenths and my dad 4 thenths in his caddy.

after that its up to you if you want better sound top end w/e im waiting on DHP to come out w/ a pcm ( computer ) for our cars and once they do itll be a nice addition for overall power increase

Bose is right... A simple cold air intake alone will give you a bit more pep. That and the FREE mod of removing the Throttle body honeycomb screen while you have the air intake ducting off will also give you a small but noticable improvement. Combine that Cold-Air Intake with exhaust down the road, and you'll have a pretty descent power increase.

What about a K&N drop in vs the cone? It seems to me the stock airbox already has ducting to at least behind the headlights and the cone type without any ducting is taking air from around the engine which has to be warmer than outside the car. As far as the honeycomb screen goes isn't that one of the computer sensors for air temp or air density or something like that?

Chris and Bose I looked at your web sites and your cars are both very nice. I have always liked the 92 - 99 body style, but the 2002 is growing on me.
