Default Help deciding on Bonneville purchase!!!!

I've already put a deposit down on a Silver 2000 Bonneville SE with 78,xxx miles which I can get for around $7900. Surprisingly, the car has most all the SLE options...Leather, dual climate controls, sunroof, and dual power seats. My question remains, is this an alright deal and do I purchase the extended warranty through Guardian Warranty and if so 1, 2, or 3 years?

Also, are the sunroofs on these cars very problematic? And I can see oil on the engine (looking at the engine from the front grille its on the right front side), I can't tell if it'* coming from the valve cover or not. If it is the valve cover is this common and should it not be anything to worry about? The other thing I noticed was condensation on the oil cap which the dealer exclaimed is common with the 3800 motors.

I also am looking at a gold/bronze/beige (whatever you'd call it) 2000 Bonne SE with 54,xxx miles for $6900 but no more than basic options and I'm not really fond of that color or the lack of options, not sure if that'* the better deal or not?

Your experienced help is much appreciated. I'm planning on buying it in a couple days so the faster the responces the more it'll help me out. I look forward to hopefully becoming a Bonneville owner and participating more in thie forum!

My direct e-mail is JessePottersfield@yahoo.com if you feel the need to contact me directly

Thanks,
Dave

That is near what a 2000+ SSEi sells for private party. If its in perfect shape it should be a good deal.

Keep in mind you should look at the 2000+ common problems thread.

For 7250 you can get this car:

I think the price of the first bonne is a little high. I would also change your email to this format to prevent spam

I will say the car falls into the "excellent" category on KBB.

Still a bit overpriced.

No. Too much. For that price, definitely go with an SSEi

Default Overpriced?

Hans... That car you posted pics of is the car I have the deposit on!!!! Still think it''* too much money??

I already have gotten the price down from what they were asking... and most Bonnevilles around my area are pretty high priced. The other one I said I looked at but didn't have the deposit on had a sticker price of $10,500 an I got that down to $6900 but I'd much rather have the silver one that I have the deposit down on and is pictured in Hans' post. What do you think?

Default overpriced?

By the way I did offer $7000 and he said the best he could do is $7900. It'* a clean one owner car, leased than baught by the same owner from what it looks like on the CARFAX...at least from what I can tell because I don't think a lease usually runs over 5 years...

Default for sale?

No, the Lumina is still driving awesome! A few more miles and she'd be at 166,000! Great car and a lot of my time and money put in it, but unfortunatly there'* no room in the driveway and my town will ticket cars left in the street. I just got done taking the system out of it today, deffinatly not junking that.

Anybody want to buy a charcoal grey colored 4 door 1992 Lumina Euro with Z34 parts on it, custom tail lights, power seat, power everything in Buffalo, NY let me know before Tuesday afternoon and she'* yours. It really kills me to see this car end up in a junk yard! I never thought I'd get so attached to a car, but I think that'* why we're all on this site... the love of fine automobiles... Any other Bonneville owners in the Buffalo area on here?
