Default Headliner *Complete!

I got the board out today, and it'* worse than i expected. The bastards that installed my aftermarket moonroof cut away all of the board save for about 5 inches of perimeter...just enough to get the grab handles and maplights in. The rest of the fabric was just suspended below the moonroof assembly and glued in one horizontal strip.

My current plan: obtain a board from a factory moonroof car. Were these boards identical from 92-99?

I believe 1996-newer have a slightly lighter tan interior than the 1992-1995'*.
Seems kinda odd, but it looks like my 1998 SSE has darker tan interior than my 1997 SSE parts car, but yet, the glove box handle I have in the 1998 SSE is from a 1993 SLE, and is yet an even darker tan.

Too bad you don't live any closer to me -I've got a good tan headliner that goes to a good home for free -given the new owner removes it.

That really sucks on the headliner hack job.

There are 4 different part numbers for headliners:
92 - 12535826
93-95 - 256106091
96 - 25618720
97-99 - 12371896

I'm very curious as to what the actual difference is between them.

Yes. All of the part numbers are the sunroof flavor. Make sure you get a used one. The listed prices are out of this world!

Wow! I'm surprised that the headliner didn't sag. Or did it?

hehe that'* the trick , isn't it. i crossed four junkyards off the list this afternoon.

Ol Blue--If i don't find a junkyard board soon, I would gladly pay you to remove and ship your board.

We finally found a good board today at the fifth or sixth junkyard....i lost count.

But we can't get it in the car. We extracted it from its host by busting the windshield out, and i'm not gonna do the same to get it in my car. I've seen haro'* diagram of how to fit it in the front passenger door, but it just won't go. I guess tomorrow we're taking the door off.

We got the board in today....by removing both front seats, the console, and the shifter assembly. No bending required to fit it in now! It fits well, but the cut out for the moonroof doesn't match. It is an inch too far forward, and 4 inches too narrow front to back, but its not gonna be much trouble to make it work.

WOW! It slides right in without the door on the car. Nice job.

The rear will be easy to cut to the right size but what are you going to use to fill the front?
