Unique. Nobody but you is bringing up your disability, and nobody here has ever met you, so they can't be using that against you.

Secondly, you have your Impalas mixed up. The newer impalas are 3800 powered, and are a bit heavier than your car.

This was a simple matter of you not understanding that Impalas made a major change between 96 and 97.

This is another example of why Kills may be 'Killed'. There will be no more negative comments by anyone here. That goes for all of you.

for the impala though, the 94-96 had the lt1, and 2000+ had the 3400 (not dohc, gagt motor) for the base, 3800 for the "LS" and finally....L67 for the SS. the 3400 ones are only a little bit slower than the 3800'*, not a whole lot, but noticible

All I can say is WOW!

My two cents on this matter are:

I owned a 96 Impala before I bought my 94 SSEi. As far as the driving experience, the Impala kicked some serious a** on the freeway and on top end! The car drove like a dream and I think even handled better than my Bonneville! (Stock) My Bonneville, however, has way more off the line! I have raced some stock Impalas (94-96) and some built ones. The stock ones get roasted off the line until the Impala reaches it'* upper R'*. So that is my first thing........

Secondly, the car is rear wheel drive. I had brand new meats on all around and no matter what you do, the tires spin. That is a big advantage to the front wheel drive SSEi.

If you get the Impala to plant, I think it may just take off and get ahead.

Either way, I think the best kill I saw was from a guy in Vegas that has a twin turbo 96 Impala and of course some engine work, and I believe he ended up taking a pink from a turbo Supra! Not bad for a car that is around 6000lbs (estimate).

i had to rent a (2000) LS Impala w/3400 before. wow, that thing was a pig. i guess 170hp(not sure of that one) and 3700 lbs dont mix well. it didnt do anything well but it was brand spaking new at the time we rented it so it was in nice shape...

I was in my friend'* Impala 3400 once. That thing had decent pickup. A good car for the average driver.

It is a shame to see someone overreact like that because we doubt something they claimed...I hate to see it.

Anyways, back to the original topic. I am wondering how you came up with the Impala SS and Grand National together, they are completely different cars, with completely different performance levels. Would you like to fill me in on this?

Shawn
