GTO - what do you think?`
i wanted to take it for a spin but (since i was definately not in the buying status) i did not want to waste the dealership'* time. Also, they only had one on the sales floor - i am sure i would have had to be really serious to get a ride.
Anyways, i sat in in it and it felt much like the GP, only smaller (maybe this was my imagination being a Bonne owner). Same sport stying, but not the (dare i say it) luxury of a Bonneville.
The specs on the performance look great but i don't know if i like it.
WHY O WHY can't they:
1 - put more power in the Bonneville'*
2 - make them Rear wheel drive (i think the Monte Carlo'* are)
3 - Put MORE POWER in the Bonne!

Not many people here like the Styling, and don't think they're that fast, but they'll run mid to upper 13'* stock on the M6 tranny.
I'd take the GTO interior over any bonnie (especially the 00+). It'* pretty damn good. I'll be looking for an 05 GTO or so in 5 years (i hope). Either that or a later Firehawk. It'* LS1 power that turns, not as straight line as a late F body, but it'll outhandle any pony car available till now around 30k.
Driveline in a Bonnie? I'd prefer it in a 2 door coupe personally, but an LS1 makes any car worthy!

Wish they would put that engine(AND 6-Speed) in the Bonneville with rear wheel drive
Bring back those thrilling days of yesteryear......when you could order a Bonneville with a big block and a 4-Speed manual tranny to GO!

I like the GTO, but like others I think it could have been a little faster and have more distinctive styling. But overall its an alright car to look at, but never gave one a drive... yet.
Yeah I'd like to know whats wrong with the 00+ Bonnies? They are slightly heavier than pre 2000, but all the power is still there. To me they look bad@$$ with an aggressive performance styling, which is what 92-99 don't really have. I mean come on, look at my signature picture! Does it look scary? Heck, it looks like an old man who tells stories of walking uphill through 5 feet of snow all year to and from school for 4 hours a day. However this old man shoots young kids with a double-barrel shotgun while skydiving in a speedo.

AMEN!! :P Well said Allmachtige!
Sorry, but i really think the 92-99'* do not have the style of the 00'*. Everytime i see one of the pre 00'* on the street i expect to see "blue" hair behind the wheel.

Sorry, it'* nothing personal, they have lots of cool new features, but In my mind, nothing'* better just because it'* newer. I don't like many new cars. They don't look like a natural car, They look like a space shuttle. There'* not much of a front bumper on the SSEi, and the front of the SE is all flat looking IMO. The GXP is done much better I think.
The seats don't hold you nearly as well, they don't have the side bolstering of a 92-99 ride. And I don't like the newer pontiac dashes. I don't like the 97-03 Grand Prix dashes either. It'* just not what I want in an interior. I'd rather have an 04 GP or GTO interior over the 00 Bonneville, or 97 gen GP.
I'm just an old fasioned guy. I like things that are built, i don't like tons of crazy electronics, i like Needles. I like exhaust roar over */C whine, (even though that may be added to mine). I'd prefer a much older muscle car, or something RWD, but i live in MN, and we have winters, and I need big reliability.
My favorite body is the 92-95 SSE body. Sorry if you don't like it, but get over it! Why does it matter what I like? I've driven 00+ that are amazing. Rogue'* hauls like nothing else, and you don't even realize it till you look down. They're great cars, and i'm not trying to take anything away from you or your car.
